CMC Nationally Recognized for Excellence in Wound Care
Conway, SC ― Conway Medical Center’s (CMC) Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine has been awarded the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence for 2017 by Healogics™. The Center of Excellence award is given to Wound Care Centers® in the Healogics network that have met the highest level of quality standards. CMC has received this award every year since 2013.
To be eligible, CMC achieved outstanding clinical outcomes, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 30 median days. Maintaining this level of clinical excellence for two consecutive years qualified the center for the Excellence Award. Nationally, out of 340 eligible centers, 268 were honored with this award, which is named for Dr. Robert A Warriner, III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.
“This award is something to be proud of,” said David Bassin, Healogics CEO. “Maintaining our highest standard of care year after year requires a dedicated focus, stamina and strength. Conway Medical Center is making a difference in the lives of those who have been without hope of healing and bringing the Healogics mission to life every day.”
The Wound Care Center is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 700 wound care centers, with access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds. CMC’s Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds, which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.
