Tanger Outlets Campaign donates over $35k to CMC Foundation

Tanger Outlets Myrtle Beach will donated $35,311.16 to the Conway Medical Center Foundation Mammography Initiative.  The money was raised throughout the month of October 2018 as part of the 25th annual Tanger PINK Campaign. Shoppers who purchased a Shop Pink Card could use that card to receive additional savings on the best brand name and designer fashions while helping to unite in the fight against breast cancer.

The donation funds will benefit Conway Medical Center’s 3D Mobile Mammography Center.  The mobile unit has state-of-the-art technology that will make breast cancer screenings more accessible.

“It’s all about detecting those things in advance and giving the greatest amount of time for care, and that’s what these funds are going to allow us to do,” said Ted Milford, Director of Development for the CMC Foundation. “Our latest 3D mobile mammography technology gets out in the community and it brings those mammograms right out into the community. So, it’s really special.”

It is the goal of Conway Medical Center to improve women’s health by offering the opportunity to detect early signs of breast cancer or other diseases. Through funds raised by local Tanger Outlets’, CMC Foundation’s Mammography Initiative will be able to provide mammograms to women who would otherwise never have the opportunity for life saving care. There is additional funding available to women who need further procedures such as biopsies and ultrasounds.  Since the program was introduced in October of 2005, CMC Foundation has paid over $500,000 in services.
